Better pictures make better FaceDouble matches. Here are some tips on how to
take the perfect picture:
1. Focus on the Face
The person in the photo needs to be looking straight at the camera, with their
eyes open preferably smiling. Frame the picture just below the shoulders to a couple
of inches just above the head.
2. Go Into the Light
Make sure there are no shadows on the person’s face. Take the picture outdoors
at midday or in overhead light indoors (florescence lights work really well). Do
not to have bright light behind the face.
3. Cut out the noise
Make sure that there are no shiny or reflective objects in the background.
4. Get Close
Try to get within 2 feet of the person you are photographing.
5. Hold It Really, Really Steady
Hold the phone as steady as possible, take the picture, and then wait a few
seconds to make sure the picture is fully recorded before you start moving around.
6. The Bigger the Better
The more detail we have, the better the match but if the photo is too big it
will take forever to send. Photos at 640x480 work the best, and they should be taken
in portrait (that's vertical) format! Make sure the picture is not upside-down.
